Seasonal Recipes from your Apartments in Spring Branch

Your favorite community of apartments in 77079 is back with another brand new blog post, and this week we’re sharing our favorite summer salad recipes! Our luxurious apartments are ideal for residents who love to host get togethers, so we thought we’d share some recipes that you can use at your next gathering.

When thinking about which recipes to include on our list, we wanted to share recipes that would work well in the Houston heat. With that in mind, we decided light summer salads would work best. These salads are filling enough to keep your guests satisfied, yet light enough to work for anyone who’s watching their summer diet.

Without further delay, let’s dive right into the list of summer salad recipes below! When you’re done reading through the list, please be sure to share this blog with your friends and neighbors at your community of apartments in Memorial Houston.

Grilled Chicken Salad with Blueberry Vinaigrette

The first recipe on our list is plenty filling, and it features a unique combination of flavors that you’ve probably never seen together before. When was the last time you paired blueberries with your grilled chicken breast? The combination is actually delicious, and it’s made more delicious by the addition of mandarin oranges and goat cheese. If you want this salad to taste amazing, don’t skimp on the ground mustard. In fact, we recommend buying the fanciest ground mustard you can get your hands on!

Before you get started, head to the store and grab these ingredients:

  • Chicken Breast

  • Olive Oil

  • Garlic Clove

  • Salt & Pepper

  • Blueberry Preserves

  • Maple Syrup

  • Ground Mustard

  • Mandarin Oranges

  • Goat Cheese

  • Spinach or Lettuce

Bacon and Broccoli Salad Recipe

Before you get started, head to the store and grab these ingredients:

  • Bacon Strips

  • Broccoli Florets

  • Pecans

  • Dried Blueberries

  • Dried Cherries

  • Red Onion

  • Mayonnaise

  • Sugar

  • Cider Vinegar

If you’re going to eat broccoli, you might as well pair it with bacon. Contrary to popular belief, bacon actually isn’t that bad for you. It’s a staple of a low-carb diet, and by combining it with dried fruit and cider vinegar, you can bring all types of flavors that you’ve probably never experienced before with bacon.

Avocado Fruit Salad with Tangerine Vinaigrette

Before you get started, head to the store and grab these ingredients:

  • Avocados

  • Mangos

  • Raspberries

  • Blackberries

  • Mint

  • Almonds

  • Olive Oil

  • Tangerine

  • Balsamic Vinegar

  • Salt & Pepper

Not only are avocados delicious, but their unique green color makes them the perfect addition to a colorful fruit salad. If you haven’t used all your avocados to make guacamole this summer, try slicing a couple up and adding them to this salad. The creamy avocados pair perfectly with the tangy dressing that’s made from vinegar and tangerines.

Those are all the summer salad recipes we’ve got for you this week, residents! We’re glad you decided to come back to read our second blog post, and we hope that you’re able to make some of these recipes next time you have friends over for dinner!
